World Reincarnation of Slimes
Summary
Usually, when focusing on the topic of reincarnation, this refers to the process of a person dying and being sent to another world. This was a rather cliche trope, most used in Japan. But what if two worlds fused, forming an entirely new world?Or. The Slime Slayer meets the Slime of Tempest.
Note
I have a little bit of explaining to do, I think. First off, I didn't write this recently -at all-. I actually wrote this back in 2022, and I didn't post this on Ao3. Back then, when I was writing fanfics, I didn't use ao3 and instead posted and wrote my fics to Fanfiction.Net. I have two seperate fanfiction.net accounts, one that is more associated with my brand and where I posted my 'newer' things- and the other being my older one that I used when I was still in school and had shitty writing, more or less. The 'Main' account in question being this one -https://www.fanfiction.net/u/13518013/TheLazyLala221And the 'Older' one being this one -https://www.fanfiction.net/u/12001141/Randomanimefan22I posted stuff to both of those accounts. I honestly don't know if I'll post stuff onto fanfiction.net still but I might in the future, I dunno. I bring this up because as crappy as the stories I posted there was, a few of them had potential. That's to say I may or may not revamp them or post them here to 'continue' them or something like that, maybe/maybe not. But this fic here was a fic I posted onto there but never quite had it leave the prologue stage. I basically just wanted to gauge interest to see if people would be interested in me writing this. So, excuse any older or bad writing bits, I basically wrote this 3 years ago. Please let me know in the comments if I should continue this at all.

Usually, when focusing on the topic of reincarnation, this refers to the process of a person dying and being sent to another world. This was a rather cliche trope, most used in Japan. But what if two worlds fused, forming an entirely new world?

One where an office worker, 27 years old, had reincarnated into a world of fantasy. Becoming an immortal young witch. Living a peaceful life to compensate for her life of overworking before. She took up the occupation of killing slimes for 300 Years. Eventually reaching the level cap of the world, becoming the strongest human there is. Creating a family and going on adventures with them while also balancing this with her peaceful lifestyle.

And another, where a 37-year-old salaryman with no real goal or luck with relationships was stabbed, being reincarnated into the world of fantasy. He was ultimately reincarnated into a slime with strong abilities, growing stronger as he copied enemies around him, even meeting a powerful dragon. He continued, forming many relationships and creating a nation of monsters.

These two scenarios differed but had one thing in common. Slimes. One killed slimes every day, gaining wonderful slime daughters and gaining her power from killing slimes. The other was a slime, powerful because his very existence was that of a slime. While this point is debatable, his natural charisma comes from the fact that he was nothing more than a friendly slime.

Just what would happen if these two universes fused? Would it truly be as simple as one killing another or would this end up being a story that was far more complex than it looked?

The goddess watching over these worlds with interest could only smile. Curiosity was getting the best of her, she simply had to know!

<Initiating World Linking Process>

The sun beamed down, the sounds of nature making themself known. It wasn't very noisy, it was just perfect for someone like her. Azusa Aizawa was just now waking up to yet another peaceful day in her slow life.

...Well, if you could call it that. Her 'peaceful living' at this point was very debatable. It depended on who you asked. She was involved with the demons, even the demon king herself. Having two slime spirits as daughters, two dragons, and even an elf and a ghost. Her life truly was a special one, but she wouldn't trade it for the world.

They were her family and she wouldn't let anything happen to them. She had gotten herself up out of bed, going through her usual morning motions until she found herself completely dressed.

"Wow, the sky is so clear today!" The light pouring through the window was something she quite enjoyed. Maybe she should try going out. It was a good day for it after all.

She peaked her head into the kitchen, seeing very familiar faces all around. It warmed her heart coming to such sights every day, it was just something one couldn't describe with words.

"Madam Teacher, the weather is gorgeous today! Shouldn't we try doing some events? Cooking outside could make for a fun activity!" The first one to speak up was Halkara the elf. She was home today as she didn't have to go to the factory.

"If we're going to cook outside, that only means we should cook meat!"

"Meat!"

The two dragons, Laika and Flatorte, seemed excited about it. Dragons just seemed to naturally like meat, which Azusa herself wasn't necessarily against. It hadn't been that long since the last time they had a barbecue but they weren't tired of it from her view.

"Alright...but NO mushrooms this time. We might as well just stick to meat. I don't think I want to go through another mushroom fiasco again.."

Azusa recalled her prior experience with the poisonous mushroom she consumed and sighed. Halkara seemed deflated at the comment but that was just her fault.

"This is going to be fun!"

"We'll take part in the act of grilling."

Her daughters, Falfa and Shalsha seemed to be excited as well.

"Well, I can't eat anyway but I'm sure it'll be fun!" Rosalie was...a ghost, so she couldn't eat or touch much. The most she could do is make magical ghost clothing for her. She wondered if one day that would change.

...Though, if Rosalie wanted to eat she could just possess someone. That's something ghosts do. Besides the point though.

With the entire family in agreement, they went outside to be met with the beautiful weather. It wasn't too hot or overbearing, just right to spend some time outside. It's not like they lacked the meat to grill after all.

Azusa made sure to keep the meat stored in the space she built. It was frozen with her ice magic or Flatorte's cold breath. It could be easily reheated with fire magic or Laika's fire magic. Living in a fantasy world was convenient, and so was magic.

"Laika, would you mind getting the meat out?" Azusa asked, simply bathing in the light shining on them.

"I can do that, Lady Azusa. Leave it to me." The red dragon nodded before walking off.

Alright...everything was perfect. They might as well just enjoy the atmosphere. Then again, that's all she usually did-

<Initiating World Linking Process>

An AI-like voice rang through her head. That was...not what she was used to. It didn't seem like she was the only one who had heard that either. Judging by the confused expressions of everyone around her.

"What's a 'World-Linking' Process?" Flatorte asked out loud. She had asked the question that everyone was likely thinking.

Even if she wanted to answer that question, Azusa didn't even have an answer. Before she could figure out what that could have possibly even meant, there was a sudden rumbling noise.

If she had to make any comparison to what it felt like, this felt as if some earthquake was suddenly starting in Japan. If it was affecting up here in the highlands, this must be a pretty serious earthquake.

"Is this the end of the world?!" Halkara cried out-

Okay, Azusa seriously doubted it was the end, but this still raised some serious concern on her end. She suddenly picked up her daughters and tried to think of what to do.

Laika has already run back out to catch a glimpse of what was going on. Of course, she had gathered the meat but she had already let it down where she was standing.

This was utterly confusing. The sky had started to shift and change. She wasn't sure how to describe it from just her view alone. It felt like the very line of the world was cracking, cracks, in reality, forming as if it were just glass.

Landscapes were starting to change, the area itself rumbling around them. It wasn't as if things were being destroyed. It felt a lot more complicated than that. The place wasn't ceasing to be, rather...creation was being added, being formed into place?

"Fascinating..." Shalsha couldn't help but say it out loud. For some reason, it didn't seem scary to her.

It's scary for me though!

Azusa couldn't help but cry out in her heart. Halkara was of course very worried, she was most likely prepared for the end. The dragons watched on with curiosity. Rosalie was pretty intrigued as well.

She was already dead so she didn't have to worry about dying. Though this seemed much more than just a physical matter between life and death.

Though Azusa could certainly say that in all of their years of living, there has never been anything on this level occurring in this world. As far as she knew anyway.

It lasted far too long, but at this point, the family could only watch. From the distance they were standing, everything was changing. Rather, the world was being expanded upon by something else.

By the time it was over, no one could tell if it was over. Rather, they were completely surprised by the new state of everything in front of them.

The world had changed.

The alliance between the Jura Tempest Federation and the Armed Nation of Dwargon was established. The nation of monsters gained powerful backing support. The attack on the Orc Lord was no more, one could say that things were finally peaceful. There wasn't much of anything to be worried about…but saying that usually jinxes it.

A lot has happened around the individual called Rimuru Tempest. But for once, it feels like he can take it easy. He bounced out of the cave, currently within his slime state. He was just now getting done checking on Gabiru and Vesta within the cave. He had to name a lot of the lizardmen and accept a fair bit of new people into the nation. Seriously, it was a hassle.

Rimuru found himself heading back to the nation of monsters. Leaving himself to his thoughts as the day went on peacefully. That's when he felt something…wrong? He wasn't sure how to put it exactly but it didn't exactly scream "good vibes!"

<Initiating World Linking Process>

Those were words completely unknown to him. That was the voice of the world and not the great sage he was so familiar with talking to. Well...He'll let Great Sage do her thing then. The voices sounded near-identical but he was able to tell the difference between that voice and the voice of the world by now.

<Notice: The World is being linked to another identical world. This process can not be stopped.>

What?

Rimuru couldn't help but feel confused by the information he had just heard. The world was being linked to another identical world? It would be a lot simpler to say that this very world was being fused with another.

But..why? Why so suddenly and especially why now? He couldn't get any information about it. He also doubted that the all-knowing great sage would have an answer either.

Before he knew it, the world started to shake. Not in a destructive way mind you, but shaking in such a way that the area around him was forming. It felt like an earthquake that wasn't very destructive.

It felt like everything was getting bigger. With how sudden this was happening he didn't have any time to process the area changing around him.

He started bouncing along the path in a hurry, quickly reaching the ever-growing forest. The forest felt a lot bigger than it should...

Wait no, this is bigger!

It didn't take long for the shaking sensation to stop. You'd expect an entire world fusing into another one to take a lot longer but guess not. Whoever decided to do such a thing most likely made the process faster just so the panic wouldn't be so high.

But whoever had the power to do that was someone truly terrifying. Rimuru continued to bounce until he reached the top of the mountain. Staring off into the endless grass field in front of him. A lot of this land wasn't here before. He didn't even need great sage to inform him of that.

He was so distracted by the sudden change in scenery that he didn't notice something else equally as important.

Someone was charging at him. There was an incredibly powerful energy shooting at him at incredible speed. It was a frightening power that even had him worried about what this being wanted from this nation.

He had to deal with this. But as he began to act, another thought had came to his mind.

There wasn't just one incredibly high power that was appearing from nowhere.

...Why was there two of them?!
