With You I Serve / With You I Fall Down
Summary
Lena gets kidnapped. That is not the problem. Somehow they've got Kara and Kryptonite too.---So here they were; sitting on the cold floor, squeezed against each other, talking as if they weren’t being held by some lunatic. As if they weren’t uncertain if they would even make it out alive. As if Kara’s heart wasn’t getting any weaker every minute from the kryptonite exposure. Because Lena knew; she knew that if they didn’t get out of here in the next hours and if Kara didn’t get any sunlight, the odds of surviving this were… let’s say not in her favor.

Breathing Out / Out

Lena never recalled being so absolutely, purely terrified. But seeing Kara on the floor, Kara who was supposed to be bloody invincible, seeing her lie there, bleeding from her face and with green pumping veins, it completely petrified her.

She hadn’t even realized that she had started crying. She was too preoccupied trying to get out of these fucking bonds, thrashing desperately against that bloody chair. After seven minutes she stopped.

Thrashing around wasn’t helping. She was just exhausting herself. And for once she was glad to be a Luthor. In situations like these she was glad to have grown up in a household where teaching your children to escape any hostage situation was common. She almost forgot it. Seeing Kara like that, it didn’t help for concentration.

“Get a grip Lena!” She mumbled to herself. Then, she closed her eyes, trying to recall her special training.

“Ok. Ok you can do it.” She took two deep breaths. “First see how they tied the hands.” She felt her hands bound together at the wrists with a single rope. “Amateurs.” She was almost exasperated by these idiots.

“Ok, Ok, I can do it. Just wiggle the hands, make enough space for getting one out and then I can help Kara.” How exactly she was going to help Kara was another problem, but she’ll deal with it when the time comes.

“Ok. Wiggle your hands and wrists, come on.” After about three minutes of writhing, she was able to extricate one hand and after that she was practically free. Except for the cell in which they were being held of course.

As soon as the ropes hit the floor, Lena rushed to the still unconscious Kara. She dropped to her knees and turned the blonde woman on her back, as to assess her condition easier. Possible head trauma, broken nose; that was all she saw by looking at her somehow still beautiful face. The broken nose didn’t concern her too much. The head trauma (possible head trauma she had to remind herself) worried her the most. She also lifted Kara’s shirt to look for any more injuries. Thankfully she didn’t find any. She needed to wake Kara up.

Lena lightly patted Kara’s cheek.

“Kara darling, you need to wake up.” She patted again and was answered by a light growl.

“Hey there.” A stupidly big smile spread across Lena’s entire face as she saw Sapphire blue eyes open.

“Hi” It wasn’t really said, Kara mostly breathed out that answer, but Lena couldn’t find it in her to restrain herself from kissing those oh so kissable lips out of which that beautiful sound came.

Yes Kara was hurt. But hearing her moan very slightly against her lips… she would be damned if she didn’t get to taste those lips now.

“Oh Kara what have we gotten ourselves into?”

----

They were now both cuddled against each other in the corner of the room. Kara was resting her head on Lena’s thighs while her girlfriend gently stroke her hair.

Lena had tried to find an exit, she really did, but nothing worked. Firstly, she had looked for cameras. She didn’t find any. She also didn’t see any apparent bugs under the chair she was previously tied to, or on the walls, but who knew? After checking those two things off her list, she made her way to the single possible escape of the room, the door.
Lena had tried banging into it with her foot first, with her entire left side next; in vain. That door didn’t budge. She hadn’t achieved anything, besides injuring herself further. She would’ve continued though, if it weren’t for Kara’s desperate pleads.

So here they were; sitting on the cold floor, squeezed against each other, talking as if they weren’t being held by some lunatic. No. Lena couldn’t let… wouldn’t let Kara die. Not here. Not today. Not before they get the time to get married. Not before they grow old together and have kids. No. Lena would get Kara out of here and they will get their well-deserved happily-ever-after.

So when Kara’s eyes start to droop and her words become muffles, Lena pushes her back up in a seating position. The sudden movement startles Kara and her eyes shoot back open.

Lena slides in front of Kara this time, so that she has both her legs around a now barely conscious and dazed Kara.

“Darling. Kara darling, you need to stay awake for me alright? You can’t go to sleep. Not now.” Lena feels herself detach from the scene. She can hear the tremble, the despair in her own voice, but she can’t actually feel it.

“Kara?” She tried, but Kara’s eyes had closed. She tried rubbing with her knuckles on her sternum to wake her up. She tried patting her cheeks gently. She tried patting her cheeks a bit more forcefully. She called her name. She yelled her name. She begged. Oh Lord did she beg. She begged, but Kara did not wake up.

Lena raised shaking fingers to her neck, to Kara’s pulse point. She waited once, twice, three times still no pulse.

“Nononononononono. Kara? Kara please.” Lena was fully sobbing now. She let her head fall on the blonde’s chest and was gripping at her shirt. She was holding on, as if she could bring Kara back by just her sheer force of will. Of course she knew it didn’t matter. She knew…

Suddenly, the fluorescent green lights had flickered and went out. It was then replaced by a warm yellow one.
