Orlando Bloom / Reader (2)

- Okay, that’s it. I am done, I’m so… done! you groaned into the darkness after listening to some man walking with heavy steps and talking very loudly in the next room.
You were visiting the south-west end of Cornwall, Penwith Peninsula that had gotten famous as the stage for the BBC drama series “Poldark”. You had already seen the white cliffs of Dover on the south-east coast five days ago and after leaving the location you had decided to head west to visit the majestic cliffs of Newquay and Holywell Bay, just to name a few spots that you had selected to see before returning London from your week-long trip along the south coast, from east to west, staying in small inns and enjoying the last warm days of summer by the sea.

You stormed out from your room into the corridor, causing a businessman to get startled with your actions and therefore he basically jumped into his room as you banged the door of the room next to yours. You were boiling with rage, ready to scold and verbally assault the person who had kept you awake and cruelly stolen your goodnight sleep! You banged the door once more and finally you heard movement, someone walking in the room, stumbling to the furniture apparently, at least that was what you assumed based on the cursing you heard and slowly getting nearer to the door. After a brief moment the door opened and you were greeted with a sight of a man; he had brown, messy and slightly curled hair, he was wearing a cozy looking pajama, he was slightly taller than an average guy and athletic, that was all you were able to make of him as he stood in the darkness, holding a phone in his hand and rubbing his face with his other hand while yawning.
- Sir. you said with an annoyed and assertive tone to gain his attention but despite your best efforts, the guy didn’t lift his gaze from the carpet to you. “You have kept me awake with your loud, never-ending blabbering!” you continued and folded your arms defiantly.
- Sorry, what? the man asked with a confused tone. He yawned again and for a moment you allowed yourself to think that you had actually woken him up. You shook these silly thoughts away from your mind since you had witnessed him talking on the phone, an arrogant bastard, and due to the location of your room at the end of the corridor, there simply was no chance that you had mistaken about this.

- Oh. you said and chuckled sarcastically while shaking your head and rolling your eyes. “Don’t bother to tell me that you have no idea of what I am talking about.” you spoke with a deeply annoyed tone, getting even more annoyed by every passing second because the man was clearly trying to avoid your gaze. That was a straight-forward and obvious sign that he knew exactly and all too well what you were talking about and his cute confusion was there just to distract you… to throw you off guard and to calm down your internal storm. Well no Sir! You were not going to grant him that satisfaction, oh no, you were going to stand your ground and put an end to this injustice. The man however kept stroking his dark curls with his fingers but they always returned to hide his face, making it impossible for you to establish eye contact with him. At this point you groaned as the response to his silence and grabbed the phone from his hand while continuing firmly
- I have been trying to sleep but it is completely impossible!

- Excuse me? the guy asked with a confused tone and extended his hand towards you to get his phone back. You however laughed at his gesture and stepped away from the door. You started to walk slowly towards your hotel room’s door which you had left wide open when you had stormed out. You had not even taken your key with you or put on a bathrobe and therefore you were now standing in the corridor barefoot in your pajama top and short pajama-shorts. You were not wearing any make up and your hair was a mess because you had taken a long, warm shower and then headed straight to bed secure many hours of undisturbed sleep. However unfortunately then at midnight, just when you had gotten to the edge of finally falling asleep, the man had begun his two-hour phone call.

- You will get your phone back in the morning. you stated and then added without turning to look at the man who was staring at you with a deeply puzzled look on his face “You’re most welcome to pick it up at nine AM from next door.”
You heard the man saying something, probably objecting now that he finally understood what was happening, but you ignored him entirely and just walked into your room, slammed the door shut and locked it behind you. Then you put the phone on a small coffee table that was located by the window in the corner and went straight to bed. You sat on the edge for a brief moment and went through the events that had taken place just a minute ago; you had never before acted so spontaneously and you certainly had never taken someone’s belongings like that. Yeah, you had taken the man’s phone… almost like… stolen it. No, not stolen… confiscated! Yes, you had been the only sensible person in the hotel and restored the order as well as peace. Yes, you were the hero of the story.

You groaned when your thoughts returned to the man in the pajama and messy hair; he had seemed familiar somehow, now that you stopped to think about it, his soft voice, those brown curls of his hair… the shape of his face… even though you had not been able to see any details of it… yet you had a feeling that he was a very handsome man. You rolled your eyes and scoffed as you mentally insulted yourself for getting so easily charmed. No… not “charmed”! He, the man… the arrogant bastard, just resembled someone you knew… or not “knew-knew”… but… he was familiar somehow and there was no way of denying it.

For your luck the rest of the night was silent as well as peaceful and the adrenaline rush, caused by getting so annoyed due to the arrogance of your neighbor, faded away from your blood stream very quickly, almost instantly in fact, after locking the door and returning to bed. This rush had pushed you to do your theatrical and overly dramatic stunt which had worn you out so thoroughly that when your head sank into your own pillow, you fell asleep almost instantly despite the fact that you usually slept very poorly in new place. Yeah, that; the strange noises and the unfamiliar bed usually kept you awake when you were traveling and sleeping in hotels and therefore you nowadays carried your own pillow with you when you were away from home… at least when it was convenient to take it with you.

You woke up eight thirty and got dressed for breakfast. Just as you were about to put on some make up, there was a subtle knock on the door. You sighed deep, put away the makeup pencil and walked to the entrance hall of your room, almost tripping over your opened suitcase that was laying on the floor in the middle of the corridor. You filled your lungs once and unlocked the door, opened it and gasped silently when you were greeted with a familiar sight; Orlando Bloom standing in front of you, dressed in casual clothes and a smirk decorating his handsome face.

- Good morning. he said and checked his expensive-looking watch that it was nine AM, sharp.
- Good… morning? you replied with a confused tone. Your mind was instantly filled with million questions but the biggest of them all was “why the fuck there was a famous actor at your door?”
- I came to get my phone back. he said as he leaned to the doorway casually and tried to glance behind you to see further into your room.
- Your… your phone? you asked nervously. “You must be mistaken.” you continued and then added “I… I don’t have your phone” since the man kept looking over your shoulder and scanning your hotel room intensely.
- Yes you do! Orlando said added “I can see it! It is on the table, right there!” He pointed at the coffee table in the corner. You glanced over your shoulder quickly and commented “Oh” with a barely audible tone.
- Yeah I have a phone. Some idiot’s phone. you chuckled as you tried to understand what the hell was going on!
- Excuse me. Orlando said with a soft and polite tone as he stepped into your hotel room, making you back away a little. However you did not appreciate such sudden intrusion so without thinking about it any further and as an automated reaction you spread your arms wide open and stepped right in front of the brown-eyed actor. You stated “Not so fast” with a defiant tone, showing no signs of letting the intruder further into your room. You decided that you would attempt to block the way as well as you possibly could and if he wanted to get past you, he would have to physically move you. Surely he wouldn’t dare to do so!

Orlando rolled his eyes once and asked you to move a couple of times but when you didn’t, he placed his hands firmly on your waist and pushed you against bathroom door, trapping you between him and the hard surface behind you. He moved his hands away from your waist and placed them on both sides of your shoulders as he leaned forward and sought support from the door behind you. He looked intensely into your eyes, making the surrounding world to disappear completely.

You swallowed once and held your breath to keep your body from touching his. It was strange; normally you would have pushed the guy away or shouted your lungs out to get help but now you just stared into his brown, beautiful eyes and quite frankly drowned in them. You didn’t feel threatened, you weren’t too shocked to move… the fact was that you didn’t really want to move and you didn’t want him to move either. It made no sense because you were complete strangers to each other and in a way this, being trapped between the bathroom door and a man that you didn’t know, could have been… no… would have been quite terrifying… but now… it was making your breathing to change into shallow gasps and your brain to turn into mush. There was inescapable electricity in the air and it couldn’t be ignored as the seconds slowed down and all the sounds of the life around you muffled away leaving you with nothing but the sound of your and his breathing. Could he hear your heart beating like a drum? Did he feel this too or were you just imagining it all? What was this? Was your brain just playing tricks on your silly, romance-hungry mind?

- You grabbed it last night. Orlando stated suddenly quite demandingly, sharpening the look in his eyes, most likely trying to read your thoughts. Your mesmerized expression turned into confusion and you shook your head as an involuntary response.
- Right from my hand. he mumbled with a somewhat soft tone this time and the look in his eyes softened as well. He shifted his gaze from your eyes a little lower to your lips, studying every curve of them with great care and intensity. “The phone!” you gasped barely audibly as you realized what the actor so close in front of you was talking about. However, even though it was only a soft sigh that escaped your lips, it was enough to break the hypnotic moment and make you recoil back to your normal self. You sharpened your eyes and scoffed which caused Orlando to step away from you. When he did, you exclaimed attackingly
- Oh, it was you!
- Yes. It was me. Orlando gasped and focused his attention to his phone again.
- Well… well… you-you… you stammered and after taking a quick yet deep inhale you continued with an assertive and undisturbed tone “You were distracting my sleep! Talking so loudly that I could hear every word of it!”

- You were dreaming, love. Orlando said and walked to the table, almost stumbling to your open suitcase laying on the floor. “I wish!” you exclaimed and after realizing that the arrogant intruder had called you “love” you continued by stating “Hey! Don’t call me “love”!” but your demands were only answered with a chuckle. You were completely baffled by his arrogance so you cleared your throat and pointed at the door with your finger as you stated firmly
- Get out of my room!
- Not before I’ll get my phone. Orlando replied while trying to kick away your bra that had gotten tangled with his foot and gotten stuck to his sock from the hooks. You cursed that you had just opened the suitcase and left it in the middle of the floor when you had checked in to the hotel late yesterday evening. If the moment had been mesmerizing and hypnotizing a moment ago, it had now turned into something very awkward and embarrassing.

- I will shout “rape” if you don’t get out now. you said and folded your arms.
- Oh come on, love, you wouldn’t. Orlando smirked at you and squatted to get the bra off from his sock.
- Don’t tempt me. you spoke and tried to keep your face looking neutral but the fact was that the situation was somewhat amusing and ridiculous and you couldn’t help noticing the cute smirk on Orlando’s face. Suddenly you realized that you were blushing and realizing it made you blush even more.
- Go on, shout then. he dared you with the playful smirk on your face. “Who will believe you?” he asked and took a quick glance at the door before continuing. You shifted your gaze to the door as well and then back to him when he continued “The door is wide open and we are both fully dressed.” You knew that it was ridiculous to even say such thing as a joke, very unfair as well. You cleared your throat and then stammered with a frustrated tone
- Well… well… I… you… I… That is not the point-
- Besides if I wanted to have sex with you… Orlando started and when he had managed to untangle himself from your bra, he stood up, hopped over the suitcase and continued “…I would seduce you… like a proper gentleman.” He walked to the table and took his phone.
- Ha! you exclaimed with an eye roll and folded your arms defiantly even more tightly. You stared at Orlando as he checked his phone quickly and while he did so, you mumbled silently “I didn’t read your messages, if that is what you’re worried about.” The thought was almost insulting because you were not a person who got her nose into other people’s business and if Orlando thought that it was the type of person you were, he was completely wrong… and therefore you reserved the right to get insulted for it.
- My phone is fingerprint-locked so you couldn’t go through it even if you wanted to. he replied instantly with a casual tone while opening the email application and checking the incoming emails. There were two new messages from his agent. He glanced through them but he decided to let them be for now since there was something more interesting going on at the moment.
- Well I didn’t… you stated and then added “…Even want to” when Orlando put his phone into the pocket of his jeans. The famous actor, looking like your favorite pirate William Turner dressed in modern clothes, shifted his eyes at you again as an awkward silence filled the room.

- Last night I didn’t even realize that it was you, just for the record. you stated suddenly because the silence was getting too much to take. “You are not as…” you said and paused as you tried to find the right words to describe him… or to describe what he was not. “…Charming and handsome…” you chuckled and then added “…In real life.”
- I see. Orlando sighed and scanned your expressions as well as your body language mercilessly. He was clearly enjoying the situation very much, however you couldn’t understand why; you were basically insulting him, which was actually very out of character for you. Maybe it was the way he looked at you… the way he… challenged you and intrigued your mind whether he realized it or not. It was so annoying how well Orlando was in the top of the situation and you were the one whose knees were about to turn into boiled spaghetti anytime now.

- I mean, it would help if you stopped behaving like a complete jerk. you mumbled, accompanied by an eye-roll.
- Aha, a complete jerk-eh? Orlando asked with an amused tone.
- Yeah… you responded instantly and shifted your gaze elsewhere. It was so annoying that the pirate in your room had the best poker-face in the world while you had to constantly struggle against blushing and smiling like an idiot. “Hence the reason why I took your phone” you stated after gathering your wits. “Or did you already forget?” you asked with an annoyed tone when you shifted your gaze back to him and your eyes were greeted with big, brown, confused puppy-eyes. “ The shouting and stomping… last night.” you stated.
- I didn’t shout and stomp! Orlando exclaimed as a response. “I am telling you, it wasn’t me.” he spoke and walked to the window, leaned to the ledge and casually put his hands into the pockets of his jeans. You rolled your eyes and shook your head a little.
- I was sleeping when you suddenly woke me up with the banging. he stated and after a quick inhale he continued “In fact, I should be calling you a complete jerk and not the other way around…” and then added with a smirk “…Just for the record.” Unfortunately you didn’t come up with a witty comeback so the room went instantly silent.

- So, just for the argument sake… you said after a somewhat long silence. You didn’t want to be a jerk but you were entirely certain that the noise had come from the neighboring room and the room was the one that was currently occupied by Orlando bloom, so you were not going to give up that easily. Besides, you enjoyed arguing with him a little bit too much; it was almost like a mutual game of wits, something to keep the conversation going until you found something else to talk about.
- What argument? Orlando asked and then continued “There is no arg-“. However you interrupted him by saying
- If it wasn’t you-
- It wasn’t! he exclaimed and basically threw his hands in the air to emphasize his point.
- Yeah… right. you mumbled and then stated with a sarcastic tone “And you didn’t hear anyone talking and walking around like an elephant?”
- No, because like I said already… I was asleep. he replied and brushed his hair with his fingers.
- I don’t believe you. you stated. “There is no way you could have slept in that racket” you spoke firmly. Surely if Orlando had actually been sleeping, he would have woken up to the noise but since he had not, it couldn’t mean anything else but Orlando was the one who had disturbed your dreams last night and he was too stubborn to admit it.

- Right. It is none of your business, but… he began and took a deep breath. “…If you must know, I was dead-tired because I had arrived from Australia” he explained and then specified “...Where I was promoting my new movie…” However this statement made you roll your eyes and chuckle sarcastically.
- …And after landing on Heathrow airport… he continued and paused to read your expression before continuing. “I drove here to spend a nice, quiet holiday-“ he said and got interrupted by you again.
- Oh, is that supposed to impress me? you asked with a smirk. “Movies… and stuff… It certainly doesn’t” you stated but this time your tone was more playful than before.
- Ha! Keep telling yourself that, love. Orlando chuckled with a boyishly cute smirk that got under your skin and made you feel annoyed again. It was so frustrating that it was so easy to basically charm you! You were constantly balancing on the edge of being swept away by the charisma and being pissed off by the arrogance! And you were getting so annoyed at yourself for not being able to make up your mind about whether you wanted Orlando just get lost or… not. What if you wanted him to stay? What if you and your romance-hungry mind wanted to… “Want to… what exactly?” you asked yourself and scolded yourself silently for even thinking about romance and Orlando in the same sentence!

- Maybe in your world it is alright to behave like you owned the place, just because you are famous and rich. you stated and pursed up your lips defiantly although you knew that it was somewhat childish gesture.
- Says the one who woke me up… Orlando replied and then added “…But I am not calling you a jerk.” You felt a slight sting in your heart, yeah you were behaving in a somewhat rude way and now that you thought about it, the things you had said and your so called reasons behind them, you couldn’t help feeling a bit bad and slightly ashamed. “Because I am a gentleman” Orlando added with a handsome, charming smile on his face.
- A gentleman? you snapped involuntarily. “Oh gosh, your head is so far in your own ass that you don’t know it anymore.” you spoke, unable to channel your frustration or to aim it to the right target, which was you yourself.
- Is that what you think? Orlando asked with a deeply curious tone.
- Well, no… I didn’t… but last night kind of changed my opinion on the subject. you responded.
- You mean… me? he asked softly.
- Yeah… and this morning kind of proved my point. you blurted and then scolded yourself for saying such thing.
- This… morning? What did I do? Orlando asked you with a confused tone.
- Marched in like you… owned this place! you exclaimed and threw your hands in the air to emphasize your point.

- Aha. Because you have my phone! he groaned, keeping his eyes locked in yours.
- And you know why I took it. you mumbled and ripped yourself away from the gaze.
- And again I must tell you… Orlando said and tilted his head to the right a little. “I am being completely honest here, I was not talking on the phone last night” he spoke softly, with a sincere tone.
- Say what you want, I don’t believe you. you mumbled and shifted your gaze elsewhere, to the floor more specifically. You heard the footsteps getting closer slowly and then a soft sigh coming right in front of you, asking “Why?”
- Because I listened to the noise for two hours! you responded and when you raised your chin you were greeted by the sight of Orlando’s casual yet stylish shirt in front of your eyes, only half a meter away, which was so much closer than you usually let people to stand; he was now invading your personal space again for some reason. You took a deep breath and tried to hide the nervousness caused by the close proximity… the luring… hypnotizing… closeness.
- You do realize that my room is in the end of this corridor, you are my only neighbor… you explained with a calm tone, not daring to meet his eyes. “… And these walls are as thin as paper” you added with a barely audible tone.

- Well that would then explain the snoring. Orlando chuckled softly, keenly examining your eyes even though you refused to look at him.
- Hey! I do not snore. you stated and raised your eyes to meet his.
- I didn’t say you do. Orlando smirked. “Besides you wouldn’t know it yourself, whether you snore or don’t” he added with a smile that made your cheeks turn deep red.
- I-I don’t! you stated, took your phone out from your pocket and checked out the time; it was almost twenty past nine and the breakfast was being to be served only until ten thirty today.

- Breakfast? Orlando asked suddenly.
- Huh? you asked with a confused tone, put your phone back into your pocket and returned to look into his eyes that were framed with long, dark eyelashes, making him look dreamy and his gaze soft and intense at the same time.
- Shall we continue this over breakfast or did you eat already? he asked with a gentle tone.
- No, I didn’t. you replied and smiled a little to which Orlando responded with a smile.
- Me neither. he sighed and then added “So, shall we?” You went through your options very quickly; you could say “no” and most likely it would be the end of this… whatever this was… or you could say “yes” and just go with the flow. Most likely it wouldn’t lead into anything but at least you wouldn’t have to eat alone.
- You know what? you spoke and chuckled lightheartedly. “Yeah, why not” you stated and nodded.
- Excellent. Orlando replied. “Get your key and let’s go” he said and offered you his hand. When you took it, he shook your hand firmly and spoke softly “Truce, love” to which you responded with a smile accompanied by one single word
- Truce.
