David / Walter / Reader - Part 3
Neither David nor Walter said anything. They just sat silently and ignored your question. You had heard David stating to Walter that he knew that Walter wanted it, whatever “it” was, and when you had asked “want… what?” an answer to your question had not been provided by either of your companions… or friends. Now you were sitting next to David, staring at Walter with a confused look on your face and chuckling nervously because you had a feeling that something was going on and for some reason your companions were not telling what that something was.
- What were you talking about? you asked and leaned back in your chair. You did not like it when there were things that were kept as secret from you because it was vital that you were able to trust the guys; you had no one else and since you were so tightly involved with each other… working with each other, living with each other and so on, it would have been terrible if you had suddenly found out that David and Walter were plotting against you.
- Nothing. David said and smiled at you.
- You are aware that I do not like secrets, right? you asked and smiled nervously as you watched Walter basically squirming in his chair. Walter did not like lying and actually he had been programmed not to lie but this time he knew that he couldn’t just blurt it to you that he was attracted to you and wanted to make a move.
- Yes. We were only thinking about the next excursion. Walter stated after calming his nerves.
- Are you sure? you asked with a suspicious tone.
- Yes. And David suggested that I would take you stargazing because it has been a while since we have stared at the skies instead of digging the ground. Walter responded. David smirked at him because this was the first time that Walter was actually saying something that was not exactly true. It was not a big lie, but it was not truth either.
- I just stated that I know that Walter wants to name constellations with you. David added. You looked at them a bit suspiciously and then chuckled, said “alright” with a sincerely excited tone.
- When? you asked curiously.
- The weather report promises fair weather for tomorrow. Walter replied with a neutral tone.
- So… tomorrow then? you asked him.
- Yes. Walter replied and nodded. You sighed with a smile as you thought about tomorrow night; it had been such a long time since you had just gone out to stare at the stars and relax. You loved your job very much; it had given you this opportunity to explore and satisfy your curiosity, to learn new things every day and discover wonders but it had been many weeks since you had taken a day off. Your routine was always the same, every day, even when your tasks changed… you always worked from early morning to late evening and this made David and Walter concerned, slightly worried even. You had for example missed the lunch many times because you were right in the middle of some great discovery and some nights you actually had fallen asleep into the laboratory because you had been so exhausted.
- Are you joining us, David? you asked and turned to look at the man sitting next to you.
- I am afraid I have some tasks I need to take care of tomorrow. David answered and smiled politely. “Some other time” he added and nodded at Walter who then nodded back with a tiny smile on his face.
- Yeah sure, I mean, it’s not like we or the stars were going anywhere. you stated and started to laugh. Your companions laughed a little as well and then you stood up because you wanted to get early to bed so you wouldn’t be tired tomorrow.
- Well, gentlemen, I think I will get some sleep now. Good night. you said and walked around the table to the doorway that led into the corridor, which led into the general sitting room and living quarters.
- I’ll see you early in the morning at the laboratory. David stated.
- Actually. you said and turned to look at your companions that were still sitting by the dining table.
- I need a couple of days off. you continued and leaned to the doorframe. You inhaled deeply and then sighed as you turned your gaze elsewhere. The truth was that you had not been completely honest with the guys; you had been unable to sleep well lately and for some reason you had been more stressed out about your work, more than usual, and since you were not really getting enough sleep, the stress was much more challenging to handle and on top of that you were having headaches that you had managed to keep as a secret from David and Walter. David stood up and walked to you.
- I will perform a physical examination immediately. he stated firmly because you looked quite tired and this was the first time that you had said that you needed some time off from work. Usually you didn’t ever need anything and you were basically happy with any arrangement… or schedule that was given to you. Therefore this sudden and unexpected need for a holiday made David deeply concerned about your well-being and health, both physical and mental.
- What? you exclaimed because you had not needed an examination before, on Gaia at least and performed by David. Everything had been fine and there had been no need for such things. You had gotten yourself fully checked at the space station and you had been as healthy as one can be.
- We do not exactly know what kind of impact the cosmic radiation has on your body. David stated with an assertive voice and added “or how your system reacts to the UV-“
- Oh come on, David! I am just tired. you said and tried to assure him that everything was fine.
- No. You might be a doctor of many things but I am your physician. David said and gestured you to follow him. You groaned and then sighed “fine”, followed David into a medical laboratory and sat on the medical bed that was in the middle of the room. He washed his hands and put on a white medical coat which made him look like a real doctor.
- This is not necessary, David. you stated as you watched him getting ready for the physical examination. He found the thinnest needle and two test tubes with caps that could be connected to the needle because he needed to take a blood sample from your arm. He handed you a plastic tube and a Q-tip and asked you to take a DNA-sample from your cheek by scratching the cheek from the inside with the Q-tip. You rolled your eyes and opened your mouth, rubbed the Q-tip as instructed. Then you put the Q-tip into the plastic tube and closed it so the sample would not get contaminated.
- Take off your shirt. David said with a calm voice.
- Oh come on, I can just roll up my sleeve. you stated. You knew that it was stupid but you were attracted to David, he was a very handsome man and even though you were in a great shape you felt nervous getting undressed in front of him… especially if he was going to perform some kind of examination… which meant that he was going to touch you… and your bare skin.
- I need to listen to your lungs. You are aware of this and therefore there is no reason to object. David commented and got his stethoscope ready. You groaned as an objection and took off your shirt and straightened your bra when he was not looking. David walked to you, put the needle that had been connected to one of the two test tubes, the other test tube and a tablet-devise on a small medical table next to the plastic test tube that was covering your DNA-sample and stepped in front of you.
- Close your eyes. he said and smiled a little. “I am going to feel your neck to make sure that your thyroid gland is alright” he added with a soft tone. You took a deep breath and closed your eyes. “Relax, I am going to be very gentle” David whispered into your ear which made your heart beat faster and a light blush appeared on your cheeks. David put his hands on your neck, one on both sides and felt your neck with his fingertips very gently. He went through the entire neck from all sides with great care and moved to feel your shoulders.
- When is the last time you have stretched? he asked as he massaged the muscles of your shoulders and upper back.
- I don’t remember. you answered and filled your lungs with the pleasantly cool air.
- Have you had headaches lately? he asked, still massaging your shoulders as well as your neck.
- Some. you admitted. The truth was that you worked in a rather non-ergonomically correct position and very rarely remembered to stretch, even after your gym training. David had reminded you about the importance of proper posture and stretching many times but you had usually just said “yeah-yeah” without actually doing anything about it which then had annoyed him greatly because he was basically responsible for your health.
- Now, open your eyes. he said and took a small flashlight. He turned it on and placed his hand under your chin. You opened your eyes and stared at David, who was standing in front of you.
- I must ask you to let me closer. he said with a smirk on his face. “Excuse me?” you asked and swallowed once. “Spread your legs” David instructed and took a step closer as soon as you did as he asked. You couldn’t help a blush appearing on your cheeks when you realized how close he was; you could feel his firm, muscular thighs pressing against your inner thighs and… “No, stop it!” you told yourself because your imagination started to run wild. You did not want to think about any… details about David’s… equipment because you were pretty sure that it was designed for maximum pleasure… and perfect in every way… like David was… generally speaking… designed to be perfect.
- Keep your head still and follow this light with your eyes. David said as he held your chin with his hand and moved the flashlight with side to side, up and down and finally further and closer. David nodded and turned off the light, however he stayed close which made you nervous and excited at the same time; having his warmth surrounding you and feeling his body so close to you brought back some memories that you had already forgotten… or that was what you had convinced yourself. You had locked the memory of having someone close away because it had been over hundred years since anyone had been this close to you…
The last person had been your ex-boyfriend whom you had dumped when you had decided to focus on the upcoming mission. “I have no time” you had said and convinced yourself that there was no future for you two, but your decision had broken your heart at the time because you had loved him deeply. He had been a farmer and your parents had disapproved the relationship because you were a bright scientist and he was just… a farmer without a real degree of any sort. Besides, he had had no chance to get onboard with you because he had not been connected to anyone important and he had not been even rich so he could have bought an one-way-ticket to Gaia or a scientist who would have been beneficial for the mission.
- Where did you go? David asked with a thoughtful look on his face because your expression had changed and your eyes had gotten a bit teary. He had called you by your name a couple of times but you had just stared through him without any reaction; you had just breathed shallowly and shivered as your mind had traveled far away from Gaia. He tilted his head a little as he tried to read your thoughts… or your expression at least. You recoiled from your thoughts and wiped one runaway tear off your cheek.
- Are we done? you asked. David shook his head and looked into your eyes even though you tried to escape his gaze but since he was still holding your head still with his hand, you had no other choice than to stare deep into his blue eyes.
- Take a deep breath. he said and pressed the stethoscope against your chest. The metallic disk-shaped resonator was slightly cool and the contact made you shiver and Goosebumps appeared on your décolleté. You inhaled and exhaled as calmly as you could and stared at David who looked very focused.
He kept listening to your lungs as well as your heartbeat and then told you that he was going to lean closer so he could listen to your lungs from the backside. You kept your posture and continued breathing calmly as David wrapped his arm around you and pressed the metal-thing against your back but the longer David stayed there the faster your heart started to beat, especially when you made involuntary notions about his scent and how good it felt to be so close to someone. He was warm and his touch was very gentle, which made your insides tingle and your skin feel electrified.
- Good. David said finally and stepped back. He put the stethoscope on the medical table, made some notes with the tablet-device and took the needle because it was time to take the blood sample. You hated needles although you worked with them almost daily, but it was different to work with them than to be poked with one. Your face went pale when David tied your arm very tightly with a rubber band just above the front of your elbow. David noticed it asked if you were feeling nauseous. He was not aware of your phobia because you had simply kept such details from both, Walter and David.
- I’m fine. I just don’t like needles. you stated and looked elsewhere.
- Would you like me to distract you somehow? he asked and guided you to look at him again.
- Like how? you asked with a nervous chuckle.
- I’m sure I can figure something out. David responded with a smirk.
- I’m sure you can. you commented with a chuckle and took a deep breath after which you added “it’s okay. Just take the damn thing” as a frustrated sigh and turned your head away. You felt a slight sting when David pressed the needle against your skin but fortunately he was able to find a proper vein easily and after twenty seconds he pulled the needle away and pressed a small bandage on the tiny puncture hole.
- Are we now done? you asked and pressed the bandage with your other hand so David was able to put your blood sample into a machine which started to analyze it immediately. He had filled two small test tubes and took the other tube into the fridge to be manually examined later.
- No. David said, washed his hands again and returned to stand in front of you. He had taken two pieces of tape and asked you to extend your arm so he could get the small, folded piece of medical cloth taped to your skin so you did not have to press it anymore. You did as he asked and watched his fingers moving in an extremely precise way and very skillfully.
He asked you to hop off and stand on the floor, close your eyes, extend your arms horizontally on your sides and then bring your fingertips on the tip of your nose one by one. You rolled your eyes again but followed his instructions anyway. Next David asked you to imagine a straight line and walk on it like a wirewalker. After that he told you to stand straight, bend yourself and then touch the floor with your hands. When you did that you felt him tracing your spine with his fingers and feeling your vertebrae. He felt your hip bones as well as your ribs and then asked you to get back on the medical bed and lay down. You did not even object anymore because it was not doing any good so you sat on the medical bed and lay down on your back.
- Comfortable? David asked and smiled at you. “Yeah” you sighed and took a deep breath.
He put his hand on your stomach and felt your bowels by pressing his palm against your lower stomach. He felt your belly as well as your sides and then traced your ribs very carefully just to make sure that everything was as it should and there were no fractures or sore spots. He asked always “does this hurt?” when he pressed his hand a bit firmer against your skin and you always answered him “no” and then he moved his hand and repeated the same thing. Finally he slipped an armband on your arm and measured your blood pressure after which he measured your body temperature. He made notes on his small tablet-devise and then helped you to sit up again. He handed you your shirt back and watched you putting it immediately on.
- How are you feeling? he asked and lifted a stool on wheels in front of you. He sat down and put the tablet on the table, placed his other hand on his lap and took your arm into his hand, holding it from your wrist, pressing gently his thumb against the veins of your hand. He focused his full attention to you and kept track on your heart rate, almost like a lie-detector. You asked “really?” to point out that his lie-detector-thing that he was doing was a bit overreacting in your opinion, David however responded to your objection with a smirk and then gestured you to answer the question.
- I’m fine. you answered, however your voice revealed that you were everything but.
- Mentally? Stressed out? he asked. You knew that he was analyzing your answer and the silence as well, even the smallest reactions in your pupils and in the change of your heart rate.
- A little I suppose. you said and took a deep breath.
You decided that it was for the best to tell David what troubled you because you did not want to take a risk of becoming mentally unstable and putting your mission into danger like that. You inhaled deeply, held your breath for a moment and then began;
- Sometimes I feel like I was running out of time, which is ridiculous because time is something that I have an unlimited amount of… you stated and started to talk about the things that bothered you. You told David about your relationship, "he loved me... I loved him very deeply... I was happy with him and for a brief moment I did not feel so... different" you stated, shared a couple of memories with David and added "all the time in the world had a meaning when we were together". Then you told him how your relationship had ended, "my place was on that spacecraft and his wasn't... so I had to break his heart... break mine as well." You spoke and sobbed a little as David listened to you without pushing you. You told him that your life felt a bit meaningless every once in a while and that you sometimes felt lonely… not because you missed having plenty of people around, because you didn’t, but because you missed things like a “… simple hug!” you said and wiped the tears off your cheeks.
- It has been such a long time… since I have hugged anyone… you spoke and then turned your gaze elsewhere when you added “… or kissed.” You told David that even though you were happy with your life, you still sometimes woke up in the middle of the night feeling lonely and… empty because you missed having someone close. “I miss having a physical as well as mental connection… to love and being loved in return” you explained and closed your eyes. The reason why you were talking about this so openly was that in addition to being your physician, David was also kind of your therapist and since you had studied psychology yourself, you knew what not-talking-about-things and just bottling up your feelings did to one’s psyche. You couldn’t take a risk of getting a nervous breakdown or getting depressed here… because then you would have been a serious burden to your companions.
- Why have you not talked about this before? David asked softly, careful not to upset you more by making you think that he was blaming you.
- Oh please! you said and pulled your hand away.
- Neither of you, you nor Walter, need that… so I thought that I shouldn’t either. I do not want you to pity me. you replied and shook your head. David put his hands on your knees and massaged them gently through your trousers.
- Are you pleasuring yourself? David asked with a calm voice. “What?” you gasped. How was this relevant concerning your health? Why was he asking you this? You froze still as David moved his hands a bit higher on your thighs, parted your legs as wide as he could and then moved to sit closer, between your legs.
- Are you able to reach a climax? he asked just as calmly. You stared into his eyes with a shocked expression on your face. Your heart was beating very fast and you did not even dare to take deep breaths so your breathing changed into shallow, random gasps.
- How is this relevant, David? you asked with a slightly shaky voice.
- I am sure you are aware that climaxing is a great stress-reliever. he spoke softly. “I know” you replied. “Oxytocin, endorphins, dopamine and serotonin” he listed and then added “all very powerful hormones and important for your well-being”. “I know the chemistry, David” you stated with a frustrated tone. Gosh you couldn’t believe that you were getting a lesson of human anatomy from David and about such topic! You after all had a degree in biochemistry and even though you did not exactly have a doctorate in human anatomy, you had studied the subject quite a bit.
- But… sometimes if you are too stressed out, it is impossible to reach the climax. he added and massaged your thighs slowly. “I am aware of that” you commented and swallowed once as you tried to keep your nerves in check. You knew that David most likely just wanted what was best for you… and you did not want to offend him… besides it felt wonderful to have him so close… massaging your thighs with slow, relaxing strokes… but why was he doing so? And most Importantly; why had you not told him to stop?
- So, have you? he asked again with a calm, soft tone that had a hint of curiosity in it... Curiosity that had nothing to do with his role as your physician. You turned your head away without giving him an answer.
- Apparently not. David commented and sighed. Talking about such intimate things with David was embarrassing, even when he was in the role of your physician... sort of, but the fact that you were attracted to him, did not make it any easier.
- I can prescribe for you something to make you feel better... to make you sleep better... but it wouldn't solve the problem. David spoke even though you tried to ignore him. A part of you wanted to just leave the room and tell David never to speak about such topics again... but then again you knew he was right; ignoring the problem was not going to make it go away and you did not want to make yourself dependent on medication.
- What is the problem then? you asked with a somewhat sarcastic and belittling tone, like you had been questioning David's diagnosis, and shifted your gaze back to David. You stared at him with a defiant look on your face, knowing that your expression made you seem cold and distant, but you did not care. You couldn't turn your head away because you suspected that escaping eye contact with David made you look like a coward... or could be interpreted as a king of confession... that you admitted having a problem and therefore you decided to look straight into his eyes.
- That you are lonely... and need to feel loved. David answered and then added "that you need to be touched" with a soft tone that was filled with compassion and empathy. "It is completely natural" David assured you to which however you responded with an eye-roll and a scoff.
- There is nothing to be embarrassed about. David spoke and moved his hands on your waist. You gasped as he held you firmly by your waist and monitored the look on your face. Suddenly he lifted you to sit on his lap with your legs on the both sides of him.
- It is alright to have needs… desires… David spoke as he slipped his hands under your shirt and felt the skin of your sides and lower back gently.
- Walter and I are more than happy to fill that emptiness. he said and tilted his head as he kept staring into your eyes from a rather close distance.
- The real question is, will you let us to? he added and moved his hand on your neck. You closed your eyes and swallowed your tears as he traced your lips with his thumb very softly. It had been such a long time-
- You are special… to us. he said and leaned closer. You felt David’s breath on your lips as he kept cupping your face and caressing your lower back with his other hand under your shirt.
- So… delicate… beautiful. he spoke and drew back a little, but just a tiny bit. He opened your eyes and traced your lips with his fingers as you parted them involuntarily a little. You opened your eyes and stared into his ice-blue eyes mesmerized, feeling like you had been under a spell.
- Think about it. No need to make decisions right now. David spoke and shifted his gaze from your eyes onto your lips and you could see that it took a huge amount of restraint for him not to make a move right here and right now. He traced your face with his fingertips and ran the fingers of his other hand on your back, slowly up and down, all the way from the waistband of your trousers up to your bra and down again. His skin was soft and his touch was gentle as well as surprisingly intimate even though he was not touching any erogenous zones... or so you thought.
- Think about me when you touch yourself tonight. he said and smirked a little. “What?” you sighed and gasped silently. David pressed his finger on your lips and said “shhh”.
- Doctor’s orders. he added with a seductive, deep and intriguingly soft tone. You kept staring into David's eyes and let yourself to sink into them as they sparkled in the bright lights of the laboratory. Suddenly you realized that David was touching you more intimately than you had thought... you just had not noticed because you had been so caught up in the moment. But now you did and therefore you cleared your throat and hopped off from David’s lap because you finally realized that his hand had moved from your back to your front and massaging your breast through your bra with slow, sensuous movements, which actually had felt pretty amazing, although you would have never dared to admit it. You had been so mesmerized by his words, voice and his gorgeous eyes that you had not noticed at all when he had moved his hand on your breast and if he had been feeling your curves for a longer time. He had actually traced your bra from the back to front, run his fingertips on the exposed skin and when you had not objected he had continued by massaging it with adoring movements, like he had been worshiping you with his touch.
- You’ll let me know the results in the morning? you asked as you walked to the door. The medical examination-slash-therapy session was over and you needed to go, now. David stood up and smiled at you.
- Yes. I will analyze everything tonight. he answered and took the tablet-devise from the small table.
- Alright. you sighed and swiped the lock with your ID-badge to open the door.
- Oh, (Y/N)? David said. You stopped and turned to look at him. “Yes?” you asked with a slightly frustrated and irritated tone. You were tired and you just wanted to take a shower, go to bed and…
- Remember what I ordered you to do? David asked you or more like stated. You rolled your eyes and left the room. You just wanted to take a shower, go to bed and fall asleep, that was all!
- I will ask you about your results in the morning as well. David shouted, laughed a little when he heard you groaning "good night, David!" and then concentrated on running tests and analyzing your test results.
You ran into Walter on your way to your room and seeing him made you face turn red as a ripe tomato. He wished you good night and told you that he was looking forward to the midnight-picnic. You wished him good night as well and stammered that you were looking forward to it as well. Then you unlocked your door with the ID-badge and entered your room. You closed the curtains and turned on some lights, got undressed and took a quick shower. You were tired but when you got into bed, all you could do was to think about David and what he had said to you. Should you let yourself give in to the temptation or hold onto your pride as well as onto your sense of independence?
