Will Turner / Reader - part 6
A storm raged all over the town and you were alone at home. William had been gone for ten days and you suspected that he was not coming home before the storm cleared away, besides he had told you that he was going to be gone for two weeks this time. You stared at the huge waves that rushed onshore and for the first time in ages you felt a state of panic taking over your mind. This was your first storm alone in a new place and the house was making weird noises that resembled the sounds that the ship had made when it had almost sunken, about fourteen years ago. You had been living with William for almost seven months but your relationship with him had not deepened. You enjoyed his company very much but your old feelings had not surfaced because Will was no longer the same man he had once been. However you had noticed that you had started to develop new feelings towards this new William but you had not found a way to voice them or even dared to confess them to him.
There had been countless times when the moment had been perfect for either of you to make a move, but then the moment had passed and left both of you puzzled and to wonder if you had read the signs wrong. Will had wanted to kiss you many times but he was worried that if he behaved in a bold manner he might push you away. It was a risk that he had not wanted to take. Besides, he was gone for many days and he sometimes felt that every time he sailed away, it was a step back and every time he managed to build his relationship further, he had to leave which then, of course, made his efforts null and void. Well, maybe not completely so but just when had assumed that it would be alright for him to embrace you without a reason, he had to leave and when he came back, there was the distance between you two again.
You had found a family that needed a governess but you had agreed to work only when Will was not around. The arrangement suited the family very well and it had made it possible for you to have a life of your own including money that you had earned by yourself, as well as a life with William. When Will was home you spent almost all your time with him but you were deeply bothered that your relationship with him was not going anywhere. You had even visited the family you worked for as a couple and everyone always told you that you looked so good and happy together but the truth was that you were still living together as roommates and not as a married couple.
The storm was too much to handle. You had told yourself several times during the past hours that you had no reason to be afraid… but when the sun had set, although it had been behind thick storm clouds the entire day, the darkness had brought vivid memories back to your mind. Then finally you had given up and found a place to sit and cry helplessly. You had refused the tears for many hours and forced yourself to stare at the raging sea, but it was too much and you had to allow yourself to hide away from the storm.
You had taken a shawl and walked to the mid-stairway because that was the only place in the house that did not have any windows. You did not want to see the trees that kept bending almost beyond their limit in the wind or the sea that was raging outside. The stairway was dark and you had not even lighted any candles because you just wanted to lose yourself into the darkness. You felt like you were mentally a teenager again because this was exactly how you had reacted before; found a spot without windows and sat in the darkness. In the beginning you had been sitting alone but then Will had started to accompany you and slowly he had taught you to tolerate the storms… but now Will was somewhere else… Safe, hopefully.
The tears kept pouring out from your eyes because you missed Will and you were scared that the storm winds would rip the roof of the house away or a tree would fall and break windows… or a lightning would strike and start a fire… and you would lose everything again. It was almost midnight when you heard a door opening and closing in the entrance hall of the house. The sound however got mixed with all the other sounds and therefore you did not pay any further attention to it. You just wrapped the shawl tighter around yourself and leaned to the wall. You had been sitting in the stairway about five hours already and the storm had only gotten worse during those hours… or it felt like that because in the dark you could see the flashes of lightning better. They lit the entire house for a fraction of a second and then the house was dark again. You stared into the darkness and suddenly you saw a man standing in the end of the stairway. The man’s shape looked familiar but the flash had not been long enough for you to actually recognize the figure. Almost instantly there was another flash and you realized that it was William, standing in the corridor in soaked clothes..
William had gotten back from the ship a little bit early because the storm had started to rage on the sea and he had demanded to get back to shore because he knew that you were alone and storms like this one made you restless. You had been living with him for seven months already but during that time there had not been great storms and this massive thunderstorm freaked out even the most experienced sailors. Will had gotten to shore and walked from the harbor to the house because there were no coachmen operating in such weather.
There were a couple of fallen trees on the road which made the last bit of the journey slow and even dangerous but after one hour of struggle he managed to get to the house. Will opened the front door and stepped in. The house was silent and dark which made him feel worried because you always lighted candles before it got dark. However it was a quarter past midnight and most likely you were just sleeping… but he had a feeling that you were not able to sleep alone during a massive storm like this.
What if something had happened to you? Will called your name a couple of times but there was no answer. What if you weren’t at home… but where would you be? It was Saturday night… Could it be that you were spending the storm with friends? But then again it was not like you to stay in town this late… What if you had gotten hurt in the storm? Will after all had seen so many fallen trees that… No, he did not want to think about the possibility that you had gotten crushed by a tree. “(Y/N) wouldn’t go out in the storm” he thought and took off his soaked, dirty boots and searched the first floor of the house. Then suddenly he remembered that when you had been younger you had always sought a place without windows during the storms. He rushed to the stairway and when the lightning struck he saw you sitting there with a shawl wrapped around your shoulders. Will sighed relieved, went up the stairs to the midway and sat next to you.
- You’re early. you commented when the man in soaked clothes sat beside you. You had not wanted Will to see you like this; shivering and crying, scared and vulnerable. You did not want to be the damsel in distress who couldn’t even deal with storms alone. Storms were normal after all and you scolded yourself for letting them affect you this much… And you hated that your fear of storms was no secret and therefore Will had abandoned his duties just to be with you… because he had known or guessed or whatever that you would surely be a wreck during the storm… that you couldn’t even handle a petty storm alone.
- I couldn’t leave my dear wife alone into the storm. Will said with a soft, loving voice. He took your hand, lifted it up on his lips and pressed many kisses on your knuckles. The gesture assured you immediately that Will was not angry at you; he was not disappointed and he did not think that you were pathetic because you were so deeply shaken by the storm. He pressed your hand against his cheek, leaving your hand between his cheek and his warm, large palm, and sighed as he kept brushing your fingers with his thumb.
- I was so… worried. he said with a desperate voice. You smiled a little and enjoyed the feeling of his cheek under your palm and his gentle hand sheltering yours. You felt Will shivering and you could hear it in his voice as well; he was cold, most likely because his clothes were soaked from the heavy rain.
- I would have been fine… But I’m happy that you’re here. you said with a surprisingly calm voice. Then all of a sudden it sounded like the entire world had been ripped in two. The loud rumbling made you jump a little as lightning struck the hill just behind the house. The sound echoed in your ears and you whimpered involuntarily as the fear took over your mind again. You sobbed silently and stared at William, although you couldn’t really see him. Will got a little closer and wrapped his arm around you. He brushed your hair as well as your cheek as he calmed you down with soft whispers that promised you that it was going to be alright. There were more flashes and more rumbling that seemed to occupy your mind even though Will held you very close and kept speaking to you.
Suddenly he stood up and left, walked quickly into the kitchen and after few minutes he returned to the stairway with a lantern that hosted a candle inside. William put the lamp on a step that was three steps higher than the one that you were sitting on and then sat down again next to you on the stair. The warm candlelight lit the stairway and made it look a little bit homier but it also revealed that you had clearly cried a lot, which made Will’s heart ache.
- Do you remember how I used to distract you from thunder when we were younger? Will asked. He decided not to point out that your eyes were red and you looked exhausted because it would have just made you feel worse, besides in your husband’s eyes you were always gorgeous, even when you had cried… although you had never let him see you in that vulnerable state.
- Of course. You used to show me magic tricks, although… you always told me to close my eyes when the magic-part happened. you replied as you examined Will’s handsome features with your eyes. The soft candlelight made him look even more handsome and mysterious.
- I did, didn’t I? Will chuckled with a loving smile on his face. You chuckled a little and then jumped when a lightning struck the sea nearby. The loud rumbling distracted you from the fragile serenity that you had been holding onto since William had come home.
- Maybe I should try again. Will suggested immediately to gain your attention again. You recoiled from your thoughts and asked “huh?” with a confused tone. Will repeated his suggestion and took your hand, squeezed it and asked “should I?”
- Mister Turner, I think I am a bit too old for magic tricks. you replied and inhaled deeply.
- Never. Will commented with a smirk.
- See this silver coin? he asked when he took a coin out from his pocket and showed it to you. The gold coin glimmered in the flickering candlelight as your husband presented it to you.
- Yes, I do see it. you chuckled. Having Will there made you immediately feel a little better. Will gave the coin to you and asked you to make sure that it was just a regular coin. You felt it in your hand for a moment and then handed it back to Will.
- I will make this coin disappear… he said and paused. You knew this part so well because Will had performed this trick so many times and even though it had been ages since he had sat with you during the storm the last time, you still remembered the tones and phrases that he used to introduce the trick… and you reacted exactly the same you had reacted before; with a wide smile that expressed the deep joy, which you felt with every fiber of your being because Will cared so much.
- …but you need to close your eyes and count to three. he instructed with a deep voice that was filled with excitement and love. “Alright” you sighed and closed your eyes. You waited in your personal darkness but this time you were not afraid; your mind was filled with excitement and there was adrenaline in your veins. You took a deep breath and encouraged yourself to count to three, wishing that something would happen.
- One. you said with a soft, barely audibly tone. You felt Will’s hand on your neck, his thumb brushing your cheek as well as your jaw with slow, gentle yet assertive motions. It made you feel that Will knew exactly what he was doing and there was nothing that could have ruined the moment now.
- Two. you sighed as you felt his nose touching yours playfully. You felt his breath on your skin and his hand still caressing your neck. Will kept close but still too far to actually kiss you. He wanted to wait until he couldn’t stop himself anymore and he suspected that you wanted the same because you had not said “three” yet. Will chuckled a little when you gasped as a result of holding your breath. You were excited and nervous at the same time, your stomach was filled with butterflies and your head was spinning as you tried to restrain yourself and hold back the need to close the distance between you and him.
- Three. you whispered finally and you felt his lips brushing yours, just very softly at first. You got a little bit closer and placed your hand on Will’s neck. You caressed his earlobe and then sank your fingers into his wet and curled hair. You explored his lips with yours very softly, just as he explored your lips with his. The kisses were modest, almost like soft brushes and silent sighs that blocked the sounds of the surrounding storm. The kiss grew a little bit deeper and Will wrapped his arms around you, holding you as close as he possibly could. He sank his fingers into your hair and guided you to tilt your head slightly so he had a better access to your mouth. He nibbled your lower lip and brushed it with his tongue a couple of times. Just as you thought that he was going to kiss you very passionately, claim your mouth with his tongue and leave you breathless, Will drew back and asked
- Did I make the storm disappear?
- Almost. you sighed with a healthy blush on your face, although you were just teasing Will because actually, you couldn’t care less about a stupid storm anymore.
Your lips were tingling and your whole being felt like it had been electrified. Will was a very intuitive kisser; he paid attention to you as well as to your reactions and it was almost like he had been capable of reading your thoughts. He stayed close, he moved with you and was not afraid to touch you. He touched you very modestly, your arms and shoulders, sides, back and neck, sometimes even your leg below your knee with both, soft brushes and firm, yet gentle motions. He massaged you with his fingertips as well as with his palm and all this he did in the most cherishing way.
- Oh. Just almost? Will asked with a slightly disappointed tone, although you knew that he was just teasing you.
- Maybe you should try again. you suggested and bit your lip.
- Well… If my beloved wife wants the magician repeat his tricks, then I must indeed comply. William spoke with a deep, sultry voice which added to the somewhat hungry spark in his eyes made you almost lose your breath and your heart to burst out from your chest. He leaned closer… you closed your eyes… but just as you thought that he was going to kiss you again, he suddenly stopped and whispered into your ear instead “but…”. You opened your eyes and asked “but?” softly, inhaled sharply when you felt his lips brushing your earlobe softly, almost like it had been an accident.
- Since you picked up this place… Will spoke into your ear. You made an impatient “uh-huh?” –sound and closed your eyes as you enjoyed the feeling of his fingers brushing your hair away from your neck and then mumbling against the skin of your neck, just under your ear
- A lovely stairway, I must say…
- Not very comfortable. you sighed and chuckled nervously. “No, it is not” Will said and surprised you by kissing your neck with passion. He used his entire mouth to ravish the sensitive skin of your neck and you could feel his tongue soothe the light sting that he had caused with his teeth. “And therefore…” he whispered as soon as he had gotten enough, for now, of your sweet moans and gasps. He drew back and stood up.
- It is my turn to choose the venue for the trick, if Miss wants me to perform again. he said, took the lantern and offered his hand to you.
- I’m intrigued. you commented.
- Glad to hear… So, do we have an accord? he asked with a mysterious tone, still offering his hand to you.
- Yes. you replied without any hesitation and took Will’s hand. He pulled you up to stand and led you into the upstairs. He led you to the door of the master bedroom and put his hand on the handle. You squeezed his hand and took a deep breath.
- Good. Now, do you trust me? he asked with a calm, very charming smile on his face.
- Of course. you answered and admired the handsome features of your husband that were illuminated by the soft, warm candlelight. Will opened the door and pulled you into his bedroom. He took the candle to the table that was next to the bed, walked back to the door and closed it. Then he pushed you against the door and captured you between himself and it. You took the hat off his head and threw it onto the floor, put your hands on his shoulders and felt the soaked fabric of his coat with your fingertips. Will shivered a little, but he did not shift his gaze away from your eyes.
- You’re cold. you said with a deeply worried tone. You felt Will shivering now almost continuously and you knew that he would surely catch a flu if he did not get out from the soaked clothes. Before Will managed to comment, you grabbed the bodice of his dark frock coat and slid it assertively off his shoulders. Unfortunately Will’s vest as well as his shirt were also soaked, the shirt’s sleeves basically glued to his skin so you opened the buttons of the beautifully decorated vest, slid it off his shoulders and then pulled the white, loose shirt over his head which left him standing shirtless in front of you.
- You’re shivering. you gasped when you felt the Goosebumps of his chest with your fingertips. You placed your hands on his shoulders and slid them on his arms as you tried to warm him up a little.
- You have soft, gentle hands. Will whispered. You realized that you were still having the shawl on your shoulders so you immediately took it off and placed it on his shoulders. Then you stepped closer and wrapped your arms around him. You felt Will shivering against your cheek despite your best efforts to make him warm by rubbing his back with your hands and squeezing him tightly against you. Will wrapped his arms around you and buried his face into your hair as he enjoyed you taking care of him, your husband.
- It is not working. you stated with a deeply worried tone because Will still kept trembling and shaking like a leaf in your arms. You didn’t like it, you didn’t like it at all! It was intolerable because you blamed yourself for it; you were the reason why Will had walked through the rain and storm, risked his own safety just to get to you… because you were too scared to spend the storm alone. It was obvious that Will loved you more than anyone else could and therefore it was time for you to love him back.
- I’ll be alright. he whispered with a smile on his face, although you could hear that he was very cold even when he spoke. Will had managed to hide the fact that he was freezing but now the shivering was getting too obvious to keep as a secret.
- That’s not good enough. You’ll catch cold. you stated with a deeply concerned tone and started to open his belt so you would be able to remove his soaked trousers.
- Then I-I’ll s-stay in… in bed. Will stuttered. You drew back and looked at him with a worried and disapproving look on your face. You shook your head assertively and stated “no” firmly, yet very lovingly.
- I-I… I wouldn’t mi-mind s-staying in b-bed with… with you. he stammered with a smile on his face, however you could read it in his eyes that he was in great discomfort. He had been walking in heavy rain for an hour and then sat with you still wearing the soaked layers of clothing for thirty minutes, maybe more, and the coldness had gone into his bones making him shiver almost violently as his skin was cool and covered with Goosebumps.
- You do not need a flu for that, dear husband. you said and pulled his belt off. You tangled your fingers to the waistband of the trousers and pulled them down, leaving him on his underpants. You felt the fabric a little and noticed that they were somewhat wet as well. Just as you were about to undress them as well, Will suddenly took your hand and said “wait”. You froze because you were worried that you had done something wrong but when you shifted your eyes from his chest to his eyes, you noticed that he was smiling.
- May I undress you now? he asked but he did not sound flirtatious or like he had tried to seduce you. You were slightly nervous but after thinking about it for a few seconds, you nodded and smiled a little. You had enjoyed kissing a lot but now you felt like you and him were taking things a bit too far a bit too fast. Will was able to sense that you tensed up a little, even though you had nodded so he cupped your face, leaned closer and pressed a soft kiss on your lips.
- You know that I would never hurt you... Will whispered against your lips. “I know” you sighed. Will pressed his forehead against yours and shifted his hands from your cheeks to your waist. He held you firmly and it made you feel that he really wanted you to be there, close to him.
- I would never do anything without your consent. he continued, slid his hands from your waist to your back and started to open the lacing of your dress slowly and carefully. You raised your chin and closed your eyes as you got on your tippy-toes in order to reach to kiss Will again. He pressed a kiss on the corner of your mouth and brushed his nose against yours playfully.
- I would always stop… he added and loosened the ribbons. “If you want me to” he said and slid the dress off your shoulders when the lacing had been opened enough. “Just say the word…” he spoke with a deep, sultry tone and added “…and I’ll stop”. You cupped Will’s face and pulled him closer to kiss you. You were wearing a simple, sleeveless, white underdress without a corset because you didn’t see the point of wearing one when you were home alone or with the maid. During the first two months of living with Will you had worn a corset always when he had been around, but then you had learned to feel comfortable without one in the presence of your husband. He had told you that he did not want you to keep yourself in such cage because of him. You had hesitated at first, even though the corset made many things more difficult, breathing and sitting to name few, but then one morning you had decided to leave the corset out and Will had not even noticed… which was great because it meant that you looked just as beautiful in your husband’s eyes whether you were or were not wearing the corset.
Will put his hands on yours as you still cupped his face. He slid his fingers softly from your fingers to your arms and shoulders. He opened the straps that were holding the underdress up and with a soft flick the garment slid down to your ankles, leaving you completely naked in front of him. Will smiled a little and kept his eyes fixed upon yours. He put his hands on your waist, moved them lower and traced the curve of your hip with his fingertips. You traced his jaw and neck, felt his strong shoulders as well as the muscles of his chest, shifted your hands on his sides and finally found the waistband of his underpants. You opened the knot and loosened the ribbons that kept the pants on his hips and then slid them down.
- I want you… So much. he said as he pulled you closer so your body was almost touching his. He ran his fingers on your lower back and then wrapped his arms tightly around you. You pressed your cheek against his chest and listened to the sound of his heartbeat that distracted you from the sound of raging storm completely. Will hid his face into the crook of your neck and added a soft “but”.
- I realize that it is too much, too soon… and therefore we’ll just sleep tonight. he said and pressed soft kisses on the skin of your neck, right below your ear. He nibbled your earlobe a couple of times and whispered “so warm… so soft” into your ear. You made a relaxed “mmm” –sound and drew back a little as you asked, or more like pleaded
- And kiss?
- Of course. But first, my dearest, let me lay you down. Will said and stepped out from the pile of his soaked clothes and led you to the bed. He was still covered with Goosebumps and after blowing the candle off he guided you to lay down comfortably and tucked you in. Then he walked to the other side of the bed, sat on the edge and lay down himself as well.
You smiled at the darkness that was occasionally illuminated by the flashes but they did not scare you anymore. The truth was that as long as you had Will beside you nothing would scare you ever again. You rolled on your stomach and lifted yourself a little, supported yourself with your elbows and crawled closer to your husband. You hovered partially above him and leaned closer to kiss him because to kiss him was what you wanted to do… what you had wanted to do for weeks already.
Will felt your hair on his face and the tickling sensation made him chuckle a little. “Shhh” you said and brushed your nose against his playfully a couple of times. You teased him a little by pulling away just as he assumed that you would kiss him… but all you did was that you made him wait and which then again made the butterflies fly around in the stomachs of you both insanely. Will enjoyed feeling you so close, closer than ever before. He felt your soft curves pressing against his strong chest. He breathed calmly in and out and dared to brush your hair behind your ear which then gave him an excuse to leave his hand on your jaw and guide you kiss him.
You felt Will’s breath on your lips as you lowered yourself to kiss him. You pressed a soft kiss on the corner of his mouth and then finally brushed your lips against his. Will slid his other hand on your waist and after caressing you lovingly, yet modestly despite the lack of clothes, he wrapped his arm around you and held you very tightly against his shivering body. You nibbled his lower lip few times before luring him into a kiss that started very sweetly and developed into a deep, passionate kiss as the minutes slipped away and the storm was just a faint memory in your mind.
You had missed Will so much; you had missed his scent, his smile… his voice. You had missed everything about him and now he was finally here. He was home with you, in the same bed… like a married couple should be. Will’s lips explored yours with great detail, showing you with every move and every touch that he loved you. He rolled you against the soft pillows and ended up on top of you, making you feel wanted, deeply desired and strangely safe at the same time. He moved to kiss your neck, pressed some admiring kisses on your chest as well and then returned to kiss your lips once more until you both were completely out of breath.
Will drew back a little and smiled at you, although he was unable to see you in the darkness, although he heard you yawning which made Will chuckle a little. He lowered himself down again, pressed a soft kiss on your lips as he mumbled “good night” against them. You were getting so tired and therefore you had barely strength to smile slightly and make a soft “mmm” –sound. Will watched you falling asleep peacefully, although he was unable to see you… but he imagined you very vividly; hair on the pillow, slightly messed up and curled from the humid air, a tiny smile on your lips that were still tingling and swollen from kissing and your chest rising and falling calmly as you breathed. Will was completely sure that you looked serene, happy… completely in peace even thought the storm still raged outside and it made the house sound weird and somewhat dangerous.
Will traced your face with his fingertips with an adoring smile on his face. He felt your plump, rosy lips that were slightly parted, your delicate nose, those soulful eyes that were now closed and expressive eyebrows that framed your eyes with your long, dark eyelashes. What made him exceptionally happy was that just as he was about to take you into his arms to sleep, he finally heard those three small words escaping your lips as a soft whisper
- I love you.
